This recipe is a spin off of the Granny's Granola Bars in the new book by Dr. Joel Fuhrman called The End of Heart Disease. Instead of making bars, I spread the following mixture on parchment paper and let it bake into a crunchy snack. Also, I don't love sunflower seeds, so I exchanged them for hemp seeds. Came out awesome!
2 large ripe bananas, mashed well
1 Granny Smith apple, chopped into small pieces
1 cup of raisins
1 cup of walnuts, chopped finely
1/2 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup unhulled sesame seeds
2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Mix all ingredients together well. Spread mixture on a parchment lined pan.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until lightly golden brown.
Cool before eating.
